FACILITATION
Bringing people together for meaningful dialogue is both an art and a science. It is also one of our most significant areas of expertise. Whether it be in times of curiosity, creation, collaboration, or even conflict, KEA Consulting is prepared to help you get you and your people talking. From planning to execution and to post-event evaluation, we work with clients to create impactful discussion and decision making opportunities.

From planning, to execution, to post-event evaluation, we are there to bring leadership teams together for effective dialogue and decision making.

Each team brings their own unique set of needs, strengths, and struggles. Coming together as a team is not always easy, especially when burdened with the day-to-day work and routines. This is where we come in to help bring people together whether it be for conflict resolution, strengths-building, decision making, and/or building relationships from within. No team is too big or too small… we can build it better together.
-
It’s one thing to have a team and it’s altogether another to build their engagement. Our people are the lifeblood of any business or organization. Getting them interested, involved, and inspired is the very best way to attract, retain, and optimize the dream team. Through retreats, workshops, and specialized sessions we can help you get there.

Feedback loops are highly effective way to do market research, build a sense of community, and also get to the bottom of whatever problem or opportunity you’re chasing. We use a variety of different facilitation techniques to get people focused, engaged, and talking. We believe asking the right questions and creating a safe conversational environment is key to understanding any issue.

The power of story is profound. Sometimes stories are used to bring theory into real-world application. Sometimes they are used to teach or inspire… or even entertain. But with Kristen, her talks are about reaching people’s heads and hearts - for impact. Stories change trajectories. Stories change minds. Stories engage and motivate. Kristen’s presentation style is one of kindness blended with humour and optimism. Looking to bring in a fresh face and voice? Kristen can bring a meaningful story to your audience that may result in tears and/or people on their feet ready to dance. Kristen’s goal is to move people - one way or another.
Creative and engaging facilitation leads to better outcomes. Period.
As humans, our words matter but even more importantly - our need to be heard is essential. Effective facilitation makes all the difference when it comes to meaningful dialogue. We are practiced experts in a wide variety of facilitation and presentation styles to meet our client’s unique and situational needs. We respect the time and energy of every participant and believe in the importance of creating space for everyone to be heard. This is true engagement and this is where we shine.
STRATEGIC SUPPORT
Strategy is all about creating the structure and pathways for us to follow on the pursuit of excellence. Whether it be for large organizations or small-medium sized businesses, an external perspective (and the extra set of hands) is often needed to create these new and/or improved structures and pathways. Through facilitation and hands-on involvement, KEA offers this kind of intensive strategic support and specializes in the areas of strategic planning, change management, workplace culture, quality and process improvement and org design.
-
Whether it is an annual or 5-year plan, or a rebuild-from-a-pandemic kind of planning, we can help. Using an engaging and deeply thought-provoking facilitation style, our method for planning is unlike most others. We believe in building capacity and competencies in the people we work with. A Strategic Planning session should leave each and every participant with more knowledge and confidence than what they started with. We’re here for all of that and getting some concrete actions on the table while motivating the people responsible to buy in, buckle up, and get to work.

Love it or hate it, change is inevitable. The challenge is not in surviving change but thriving in it. We believe this is a teachable skill and with the right blend of focus on tactical change considerations and the human/emotional side of change - the results can be better, quicker, and more sustainable. There’s an art to change management that is often overlooked. Change management is often an after-thought when things go wrong with costly mistakes and/or poor team uptake. We like to get ahead of the change and help clients carefully plan their steps and mitigate the minefield that can come with change. Big or small - transactional to transformational - we are here to help.
-
The roots of workplace culture can run deep and wide. This is why there is tremendous value in bringing in a neutral and objective person in to evaluate, assess, make recommendations for and help to implement changes to improve workplace culture. They saying goes “culture eats strategy for lunch” but we think that if done correctly, the two can actually have lunch together quite peacefully.
-
Quality sometimes takes a backseat on the priority list. Let’s face it… it often isn’t a shiny, tempting object in the big scheme of things and we usually start paying attention to it when it’s pointed out as a problem. Process improvement also falls into this camp. When costs rise and/or margins shrink, the pain in the piggy bank is often the first sign that something needs to be improved. We prefer to take the proactive approach and lean into data, metrics, and best practices to build systems that prevent mistakes, foster efficiency, and actually contribute to the bottom line. Whether you’re interested in reducing waste, improving customer relations, or anything in between on the quality or process spectrum, we are here to help.

Program design and structural changes are incredibly difficult to construct from within. There’s a benefit to having an outside perspective and a very strategic (and compassionate) approach to organizational design. We consider all angles from HR to process and quality improvement, to workplace culture. We believe in working with the team to build the design vs. creating and imposing it on the people whom have to live in it. Yes - we start and finish with engagement and we think the world would be a better place if everyone else did too.
Objectivity is essential when crafting a strategy or plan.
There is always more than one way to look at a problem or opportunity. The challenge lies in bringing an objective perspective to the table with biases parked and an open mind ready to invent something different. This is the true value of bringing an external partner for strategic support. We bring learnings, experience, and observations from a variety of sectors and industries. These differing perspectives can be complimentary and catalytic to your existing internal perspectives. We believe in making the strategy work fun too.
